Meet Pecan Sandie, otherwise known as Mr Snake!
Pecan is a large (1.4kg) and absolutely gorgeous ball python who was surrendered when his family was making a long distance move and didn’t want to stress him with extended travels. Pecan was clearly well loved, and is very easily handled and is a great eater. This charismatic serpent would make a fantastic companion to any budding-to-experienced herpetologist. His previous family believes him to be about 11 years old.
Ball pythons are ectothermic, meaning they rely on external heat sources to regulate their body temperature. They require a secure and spacious terrarium with adequate ventilation. The enclosure should be large enough to allow the snake to move around comfortably, but not so large that it becomes difficult to maintain proper heat and humidity levels. Ball pythons are generally docile and can make good pets. However, they may become stressed or defensive if handled too often or roughly. Give your snake time to settle into its new environment before handling it, and always handle it gently and with care!
Pecan’s adoption fee is $50, we will include the enclosure he came in to keep him comfortable!
