Meet Toucan, a very shy (but working on being sweet) young cat. Toucan has had a hard start to life. He was born in a home that had too many cats, and not enough time for socialization. When his former owner reached out for help with the unmanageable indoor colony – Toucan found himself here at the shelter looking for his 2nd chance. He is now allowing some pets (but he does make a big fuss about it sometimes). He is food motivated and will meow at the front of his kennel, waiting for his wet food portions to arrive.

Toucan is looking for very patient and understanding adopters, who will help him gain confidence in a new home setting, and will accept him even if he may never become a lap cat. We think that Toucan would love the company of another friendly/outgoing cay to show him the ropes.
