Raising animal care standards and promoting respectful human-animal relationships.

OUR Vision

Pet And Wildlife Rescue is a registered charity in Chatham-Kent whose main mission is to raise animal care standards in the community.

Our mission is carried through several programs which include finding suitable homes for surrendered or abandoned pets through fostering and adoption, providing temporary animal care to local pet owners in distress, operating a pet food bank, and assisting orphaned or injured wildlife through our volunteer team.

Our organization is contracted by the municipality of Chatham-Kent to provide animal control and pound services for the county.

Providing dogs with social interaction, as well as physical and mental stimulation are critical factors for maintaining their behavioral health. Enrichment programs can help relieve shelter dog boredom and stress, which can make a major difference in a shelter dog’s daily life. The best types of enrichment, for most dogs, involve interaction with people or other dogs.

Our shelter provides small dog runs for daily exercise but lacks an open space for dogs to thrive. We are thrilled to have been given the authorization to utilize a large area behind our shelter in Chatham to create such as space. We have been saving up to start this large project and will be fundraising for the next few months to complete it.

If you too feel that shelter dogs should be given the best until they can find their very own home, consider a donation and please share our posts!

All donations over $20 will qualify for a tax receipt.
