He grew up in the shelter alongside his hockey-loving brothers, learning all the same kitten chaos skills, but choosing to use them at about 40% effort, max.

While the rest of the team treats life like overtime in Game 7, Hitch treats it like a casual Sunday skate. Something dramatic happening? Hitch has already sat down to observe it. Something exciting? He might participate… if it aligns with his schedule. In the shelter, he was part of the full roster from day one. Sharing beds, batting toys, and occasionally contributing to group mischief, though he strongly denies any involvement. His vibe is more “seen it all before” than “caught up in the moment,” even if he is, in fact, a kitten who has not seen very much at all.

Hitch’s play style is understated excellence. One slow stroll into a room, one perfectly timed flop, and suddenly he’s involved whether anyone invited him or not. He doesn’t chase the action so much as let it happen near him, then nod approvingly. Despite the chill exterior, he’s deeply bonded with his shelter teammates. He grew up in the same little crew as his brothers, and underneath all the Newfoundland cool is a very affectionate kitten who just likes being part of the group (from a respectful distance, of course).

Now he’s ready for his next chapter: a forever home where things are steady, snacks are regular, and nobody expects him to act like every moment is a highlight reel. Hitch isn’t here to make noise. He’s here to make things feel settled.
