Three years ago, a tiny kitten named Iris arrived at the shelter, full of promise and ready to start her next chapter. She quickly found a home of her own, and we thought her story with us had come to an end.

Life, however, had other plans.

Sadly, Iris was recently returned when the busy household she lived in became a little too overwhelming for her. While she cared deeply for her family, the arrival of a young human sibling left this sensitive girl feeling stressed and anxious. Like many cats, Iris isn’t one to hide her feelings, and that stress began showing up in ways that let everyone know she wasn’t comfortable.

Today, Iris is looking for a quieter, calmer home where she can truly relax and be herself. She would love a peaceful environment without small children, where her days can be filled with cozy naps, sunny windowsills, and the occasional judgmental glance from across the room.

To help support her during this stressful time, Iris is currently eating a urinary diet and has been doing very well. Once she’s settled into a stable home and feeling secure again, her future family can discuss with their veterinarian whether she may be able to transition off the special food.

Don’t let her past fool you—Iris is an incredibly sweet, friendly girl who enjoys attention and loves being around her people. She simply needs a family that understands that some flowers bloom best in quiet gardens.
