Kitten Formula Roundup!
To everyone who had a part in helping us collect kitten nursing supplies – whether you donated milk replacer, bottles and nursing kits OR shared our post: Our orphaned kittens thank you!
Between the shelter and our foster homes, we have 46 kittens and more being brought in on the daily. Unfortunately, over ½ of those kittens are orphans. When kittens are brought in as orphans it is up to our dedicated fosters, volunteers and staff to care for them. Newborn kittens are not able to urinate or have a bowel movement on their own – they require stimulation. They are also unable to regulate their own body temperatures so they depend on us to provide them with heating pads, etc.
Once again, thank you to those who were able to share our post or donate nursing supplies. We would also like to extend a HUGE thank you to our fosters and volunteers who dedicate their time to caring for our orphaned kittens – even when it means that they have to wake up at all hours of the night for feeding and stimulation.
Below are a couple of photos of the kittens whose bellies you have helped fill!
