Meet June Bug!

This sweet little girl is a tiny package of purrs, personality, and just a touch of extra eye care! June Bug had feline herpesvirus keratitis when she was a very small kitten, which left her with some lasting changes to her eye. Part of her conjunctiva is adhered to her eye as a result of that early infection. Thankfully, her veterinarian feels this is something June Bug can manage and live with, and it does not stop her from being the happy, playful kitten she is today!

June Bug does have feline herpesvirus, which is incredibly common in cats. Once a cat has the virus, it remains in their body for life, and it can occasionally cause flare-ups, particularly during times of stress. She may be more prone to watery eyes, squinting, or other eye irritation than a cat without the virus. Her adopters will need to keep an eye on her eyes as she grows and watch for any changes, as well as provide any eye care or medication recommended by her veterinarian if needed.

The good news is that June Bug isn’t sitting around worrying about any of this. She’s far too busy being a kitten! She’s happy, playful, curious, and ready to find a family who will love her exactly as she is. Her eye condition is simply one small part of her story—it doesn’t define her, and it certainly doesn’t stop her from being a wonderful little companion.

June Bug may need a little extra attention and monitoring as she grows, but in return, she’s ready to bring a whole lot of love, purrs, zoomies, and kitten mischief into your life. If you’re looking for a special little bug to brighten your days, June Bug is ready to fly right into your heart!
