While his sister Bitey has decided that humans are basically her personal furniture, Scratchy has taken a slightly different approach to life. He’s more of a “I’ll come to you when I feel like it” kind of guy.

Scratchy was also a little reserved when he first arrived, but with some patience and love, he has learned that people aren’t so bad after all! He enjoys attention and pets when he’s in the mood, but he isn’t exactly going to chase you down demanding cuddles. Scratchy is an independent gentleman who has places to be, things to inspect, and absolutely no time for unnecessary meetings.

He’s also not particularly interested in making a bunch of feline friends. Other cats can do their thing, and Scratchy will happily do his thing, preferably somewhere nearby where he can observe the nonsense from a comfortable distance. Scratchy is the kind of cat who doesn’t need to be the center of attention. He’s perfectly happy entertaining himself, wandering around, finding a cozy spot, and occasionally remembering that humans are actually pretty nice and might provide some excellent scratches.

He may not be the clingiest cat in the room, but that just makes his affection feel extra special. When Scratchy chooses to come over for some attention, you’ll know you’ve officially been selected. Scratchy is looking for a home where he can be his wonderfully independent self, with people who understand that sometimes the best way to love a cat is to let him do his own thing, until he decides otherwise.

Bitey will be adopted with a voucher to cover the cost of his neuter surgery.
