Instead of singing in a band and hopping on a train, Sugar Kane found herself raising her babies beneath someone’s porch. Once she arrived at the shelter, she traded dirt floors for cozy blankets and proved to be the most devoted mama around. She poured all of her love into raising her little cast of kittens, and now that every one of her babies has found a happy ending, it’s finally her turn to be the star.

Like any true Hollywood icon, Sugar Kane can be a little mysterious when you first meet her. She isn’t the type to make a grand entrance or steal the spotlight right away. She prefers to scope out the scene from backstage while she decides if you’re worthy of an autograph. But if you give her a little patience (and perhaps imagine some dramatic black-and-white movie music playing), she’ll slowly let down her guard and reveal the sweetest, gentlest little heart.
