Today officers Van Eyk and LeClair received a surprise visit from Vic, who just a month ago was a stranger to them.

In November, officers Van Eyk and LeClair were patrolling the cemetery at dusk. When they were ready to leave they noticed a man laying on the ground in the distance.

When they reached him it was clear that he had slipped on the ice and was in distress and in need of medical attention. The officers called for an ambulance and provided first aid before securing his dog who was hiding under his car.

The ambulance arrived and the officers brought Vic’s dog and car to the shelter for safekeeping until they could reconnect.

Today, Vic is back on his feet and we were grateful that he stopped by to update us on his progress.
