Meet Dr. Heinz — a little gentleman with a big personality hiding underneath that cautious exterior!

When Dr. Heinz first arrived at the shelter, we honestly weren’t sure what to make of him. We thought we might have a little feral fellow on our hands, but this boy has slowly been proving us wrong. With patience, kindness, and plenty of time, Dr. Heinz has started showing us that he really does like people… he just wants to get to know you on his own terms.

And once he decides you’re trustworthy? Get ready for the pets! Dr. Heinz absolutely LOVES being scratched and has quickly become a staff favourite. He may still be a little shy and cautious, but seeing him come out of his shell has been incredibly sweet.

Now, Dr. Heinz does have some very strong opinions about kisses. Pets? Absolutely. Cuddles? Potentially. Kisses? That requires a full scientific review and several weeks of consideration.

Named after the wonderfully eccentric Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb, our Dr. Heinz may not be plotting to take over the Tri-State Area, but he is definitely working on taking over our hearts.

Because he’s still building his confidence, Dr. Heinz would do best in a quiet, patient home where he can settle in at his own pace. He may need some time before he feels completely comfortable, but we know that the right person will be rewarded with the sweetest little companion.

Heinz may have arrived as a mysterious, seemingly feral fellow, but he’s quickly shown us that there’s a very lovable guy!
