These bonded, adorable girls came into our shelter frightened and unsure, scared of even the smallest sounds and movements, so we got them into an amazing foster home right away! With patience, consistency, and a safe environment, they have both made incredible progress during their time with us.

They are let out for exercise every morning and every evening, which has helped them build confidence and trust. Maya especially loves jumping, exploring, and running around during playtime. She has become very comfortable with us, allows us to pick her up from the cage, and happily eats treats from our hands.

Kristen is the more timid of the pair and clearly adores Maya. While she still takes a little more time to warm up, she has made huge progress as well. She has recently started taking food from our hands, and we are so proud of how far she has come.

They have also been wonderful around children and currently live in a home with a 5 and 7 year old. Over time, they have become very comfortable with the louder noises and activity that naturally come with children, which has been amazing to see.

These sweet girls are deeply bonded and would thrive in a home with someone who understands the time, care, patience, and financial commitment that chinchillas require. They truly deserve a loving forever home where they can continue to grow in confidence and enjoy the wonderful life they deserve.
