Meet The Last Dandelion, a handsome little fellow who has taken one look at the concept of human affection and said, “No thank you, I choose chaos.”

When Dandelion first arrived, he was extremely shut down and understandably unsure about people, so he headed off to foster with some feline friends to see if a little cat-to-cat companionship could help him come out of his shell. And while he has decided that other cats are pretty great, his opinion of humans remains firmly in the “please admire me from a respectful distance” category. Dandelion is not interested in your cuddles. He does not want your kisses. He will actively avoid your attempts at friendship like you have personally offended his ancestors. But toys? NOW WE’RE TALKING. Bring out a wand toy, and suddenly this formerly mysterious little wallflower transforms into an absolute maniac. He chases toys like he has a personal vendetta against them and is prepared to work overtime to settle the score.

The good news is that Dandelion does enjoy the company of other cats, so a feline friend or two would be right up his alley. He may not be the guy you’re looking for if your dream is a lap cat who follows you around the house, but if you’re looking for an independent cat who is perfectly happy doing his own thing, Dandelion could be your guy. In fact, we think he could make an excellent shop or working cat. He has the instincts, the independence, the impressive toy-chasing skills, and absolutely ZERO interest in spending his workday being fussed over by management. Give him a safe environment with outdoor access, some feline coworkers, and a mouse problem to solve, and he may just thrive.

The Last Dandelion may not want to be your best friend, and honestly, he would probably like it even less if you tried to make him, but he has his own unique charm. He’s quirky, independent, cat-friendly, and very, very good at chasing things. Basically, he’s not here to be your emotional support cat. He’s here to clock in, catch mice, play with toys, and go home.
