Velvet’s story didn’t start out as glamorous as her name suggests. She and her seven siblings arrived at the shelter as tiny babies after being abandoned. Thankfully, this little lady landed in an incredible foster home where she received all the love, care, and patience she needed to blossom into the affectionate, confident kitten she is today. Now? Velvet is living up to her luxurious name. She’s as soft as her namesake, as gentle as can be, and has mastered the art of turning into a tiny purring puddle the moment she gets attention. She believes every lap was made for her, every toy is a personal invitation to play, and every human deserves the honor of giving her pets. Velvet has officially traded survival mode for snuggle mode, and she’s never looked back.

Like many cats who have had a rough start, Velvet does have feline herpesvirus (FHV). This means she may occasionally have flare-ups, such as watery eyes, a little eye discharge, or some sneezing from time to time. These symptoms are not slowing this girl down one bit, but her future family should be prepared to keep an eye on her as she gets older and monitor any changes to ensure she continues feeling her best.
